The Democratic debate on Saturday proved one thing: powerful interests that transcend the political parties have an agenda. That’s the only explanation for the talking point mindlessly repeated by virtually all of the presidential candidates in both parties: “It is the first job of the president to keep Americans safe.”
Maybe it’s a slogan that’s been thrown around in Council on Foreign Relations meetings or some other gathering of the wonderful people who make all the decisions for us rubes. But wherever it came from, it was certainly no coincidence Americans heard it from virtually every candidate, Democrat or Republican, during the past two debates. It would have been only slightly spookier if they heaped effusive praise on Raymond Shaw.
More important than it being creepy and patronizing is that it’s completely wrong. The first job of the president is not to keep Americans safe. It is to defend their liberty.

The Constitution has one inherent weakness that the founders acknowledged.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” John Adams
And to further define terms, ‘religious’ was a word synonymous with Christianity in all of its various flavors, with special cautions against Catholicism because of its amassing powers in one man and the Jewish faith because of the strain of belief among them that there were no future rewards or punishments, which our Constitution depended on as an internal check on perjury. Islam could not be considered ‘religion’ in this context, but was considered ‘false religion’, for the following reason.
When you swear your oath to the Constitution on a Bible, you are declaring a divine curse on yourself for eternity if you should be lying in that oath.
Religion could not be defined as Islam for the sake of the Constitution because that faith has no such restraints against perjury; as a matter of fact, lying is permissible in order to promote the domination of Islam over all others. So, you see the problem.
As Christianity in statecraft declines, so will the liberties the Constitution seeks to secure. Liberal’s and Pollyanna libertarians foolishly grant equality between Christianity and Islam, and by doing so are assisting in the suicide of the one form of government that offers hope of freedom to the whole world. The protections of liberty you so eloquently describe in “No Hillary..” need be informed by John Adams’ solemn admission.

I read and affirm the wisdom of the men you quote in your:

With one simple caveat.
These men you quote, whose wisdom I affirm were far from being faced with the ascendancy of Islam among their ranks. They bathed in the luxuries of an atmosphere created of Protestant Christianity, not atheism, not Islam, and not Catholicism, none of which are famous for expanding freedoms to engage in rational argument..
Here’s a perspective on the Treaty of Tripoli you obviously haven’t considered or you wouldn’t be using it in the manner that you do.

What you will learn with this accurate historical account is that the olive branch that the US extended to Tripoli was regretted, and the men who sought peace by making such a declaration that we were not Christian, later regretted it and reversed that hopeful but misguided treaty..
